Unsolicited Testimonials

I am a home inspector.   I am NOT a marketing guru.   The majority of my clients are referred to me by previous clients.   Although I do not actively solicit real estate agents, I do also receive regular referrals from a number of them.   These are the good agents that care more that their clients receive a thorough inspection than ensuring their quick commission with a "soft" report.   Some have used me to inspect their own home, which speaks volumes.

My ethics dictate that I work for my clients' best interest only, without any regard to the outcome of the transaction.

I also do not solicit testimonials from my clients.   The following are a few of the e-mails I have received over the years, all without any prompting on my part.

Thank you for your methodical approach, nice attitude, and critical three hour inspection with a detailed, readable, and actionable twenty one page report.  We knew we were buying a house that wasn’t in the best shape, and you helped us identify exactly what that translated into with a long list of issues from chimney foundation repair to knob-and-tube replacement to many more minor issues.  It also helped us negotiate over 1.5% off the asking price ($10k!), which meant we could afford to make the necessary fixes.  We’ve saved the rest for later, and I was able to easily converted your report into a checklist of maintenance items which we’ll cover over the next few months.   Thanks again,  Ned F.

Richard,  THANK YOU.  Kristen and I really appreciate the time you spent, your attention to detail, your communication style, and the thoroughness of your work product.  Your report was definitely a breath of fresh air compared to other ones I've seen...it's very easy to read and devoid of all the boilerplate garble I've seen in standard forms.  The last inspector we hired was so rushed and quick talking and he just checked off boxes and scribbled some barely legible remarks --- it seemed like wasted $$ and so after that experience we weren't excited about hiring another inspector.  Well, I am so glad Tamaira referred you and I must say that after reading your website vs. the 5 or 6 other companies' / individuals' sites I considered, I was impressed but somewhat skeptical...well, after the first hour yesterday I thought wow, Richard really lives up to his marketing!
